The only Italian date for a virtuoso artist who reinterprets jazz with his eclectic style: Andrew Bird.

Born in Chicago, Andrew was the subject of his mother’s musical ambitions from a young age. Like many parent-child dynamics, it could go either way—either captivated by a mother’s ego projection or repelled by it. Among his siblings, only young Andrew began playing with notes.

At the age of four, he played a toy violin, which would become the springboard for his life.

Later, the Suzuki method and a real violin introduced him to music and formal study.

A virtuoso of the instrument, at 23, he released his first solo album—a skilled but academic work. The virtuosic display limited his creative flair.

From 1997 onwards, he released three albums with the band Andrew Bird’s Bowl of Fire, leaning towards traditional roots but without a clear identity.

At the same time, he continued to work solo, but the real turning point in his career came in 2005 with “Andrew Bird & the Mysterious Production Of Eggs”.

This marked the transition from pure virtuosity to indie rock.

The guitar took center stage over the violin, and the fusion of musical genres became more organic.

Meanwhile, Bird explored other fields, composing part of the soundtrack for a Muppets film and acting in the fourth season of the TV series Fargo.

However, his youthful passions smoldered like embers and eventually rekindled.

His latest work marks a return to jazz, chamber atmospheres, and his musical idols.

Released in May 2024, the album revisits jazz classics—notes from a distant time. Of the ten tracks, nine are covers, with only the final track being an original composition.
